Roofing Labourer
The company
West Country Tiling Company are specialist roofing contractors based in Frome. We provide an expert range of roofing services to our clients across the South West of England.
We specialise in working on churches, historically significant and listed buildings, as well as some modern properties, using stone and natural slate, plain and clay tiling, cedar and oak shingles and leadwork.
The Role
- As a Roofing Labourer working for us, you will be expected to work in a team of three to learn and develop roofing skills on the job.
- The work carried out can be anywhere in the South West of England, but you would need to be in our yard in Frome each day at 7am.
- The type of work you will be expected to carry out include varied roofing tasks under the instruction of an experienced Masterman.
- Full roofing slating and tiling on-the-job-training available to the right candidate, with follow up lead training.
- Although no formal qualifications are needed, if you show aptitude, you can be enrolled in our apprenticeship scheme for the opportunity to learn a trade for life and gain qualifications in roofing.
- Working hours are from 7am to 4pm at the earliest. Minimum 40 hours a week, some gangs will work over 50 hours a week when required.
- Salary is a minimum £10.00 starting hourly rate. (rate increase based on experience).
- You are guaranteed 40 hours minimum pay per week, with overtime paid at time and a quarter.
- Benefits include 20 days paid holiday and 8 paid bank holiday per annum, over-time pay, and training. We provide full health and safety training with annual refreshers.
