Position Overview & Specifications

The post holder will provide senior specialist clinical quality and patient safety leadership, advice and expertise, and will lead on all patient safety related activities as well as playing a key role in providing clinical governance advice and support to the Clinical Directors, ensuring a seamless quality response for the areas that they oversee.

The post holder will be an integral member of the Clinical Governance team, supporting the Trust and Local Services clinical line regarding: patient safety and clinical assurance, serious incident and/or complaint investigations and associated learning, specialist clinical governance oversight and contributing to delivering the Trust-wide clinical governance agenda. The main duties will be driven by the needs of Local Services and associated clinical service lines.

The main duties of this exciting and challenging role include:
Leading a team to provide an integrated quality and patient safety advisory and support function that meets the needs of the Local Services service lines (AMHS / PMS).

Managing and developing relationships to ensure that quality and patient safety agenda is embedded within the operating model of the AMHS and PMS service lines, and forms a central driver for improving staff safety and patient care.

Leading on specific quality and patient safety projects as assigned by the
Associate Director of Clinical Governance Working collaboratively with other Quality & Patient Safety managers, Governance Leads, Trust Central Governance Team and clinical governance partners, to develop appropriate work programmes and job plans

The post holder will provide senior specialist clinical quality and patient safety advice and will lead on safety related activities as well as playing a key role in providing clinical quality advice and support to the Local Services service line, Clinical and Executive Directors, ensuring a seamless quality response for the areas that they oversee.

The role involves wide-ranging collaboration with both internal and external colleagues, as well as healthcare partners across the system. The role requires analysis and interpretation of complex quality information, both quantitative and qualitative and contribution to devising strategies and approaches to resolve issues.

The post holder will both contribute to, and lead, on the production of quality and safety reports, projects and initiatives as required to deliver the outcomes expected of the role.
