Due to continued growth and the award of the Non-Infrastructure Framework with Southern Water, we are currently looking for an Assistant Construction Manager to join our Projects team working in a joint Venture with Binnies. As an Assistant Construction Manager, you will assist the Construction Manager in the execution of planned construction projects and oversee their progress along the way in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Main Duties

  • Managing and coordinating the on-site projects construction teams within the Southern Water region to ensure delivery of projects on time, within budget and to the highest standard including all Sub Contractors
  • Ensure effective management of Health & Safety, Quality, and Compliance for all projects on site
  • Providing regular updates to the Construction Manager
  • Liaison with the WGM / Joint Venture project team
  • Organising progress reviews/ meetings with relevant parties as required
  • Building relationships with the internal teams, the client, and other relevant contractors on site and communicate effectively between all parties
  • Improving and developing the construction team and ensure all required training has been identified, booked, and attended by the team members
  • Recruitment and development of new team members
  • Experience in the construction and reviewing of site RAMS
  • Leading by example and always setting the highest of standards when it comes to project delivery and Health and Safety matters
  • Complete site visits as required
  • Undertake Site surveys including the recording of clear and concise record information
  • Support all Safety Briefings
  • Undertake Site Safety Audits/ Inspections/ Observations/ Leadership discussions

To be considered for this position you will have at least 2-3 years previous experience within a similar level management role and with a good level of experience and knowledge of Mechanical/Electrical and civil Engineering. The ideal candidate should be familiar with WIMES specifications and delivering work to this standard; experience and appreciation of Southern Water specifications and procedures would be beneficial for the role. A full UK license is essential as various travel to site across the southern region will be essential as part of the role.
