Warehouse Operative/Evening Loader

Willmotts Transport is one of the largest independent warehousing and distribution companies in the South West, based just outside of Shepton Mallet, near Bristol. Due to continued success and growth, we are looking for an Warehouse Operative/Evening loader to join our friendly team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take part in the day-to-day operation of our warehouses and storage facilities
• Taking delivery of goods for storage
• Checking for damaged or missing items
• Moving stock by hand or with machines
• De-stuffing containers
• Loading / unloading trailers either for deliveries or collections
• Cleaning the warehouse
• Loading of Northbound Trunks
• Ensure safe loading of trunking double deck and/or straight frame trailers in line with DVSA safe loading guidelines
• Ensure all pallet network pallets are both labelled and scanned correctly to trunking trailers.
• Ensure all Night trunk drivers and vehicles dispatch on time and safely
• Clear and keep tidy loading areas and areas used by PF / brush up if required
• Ensure forklifts and kept clean inside and out
• Check and clear canopy/yard area of any consumable and/or high value goods

Key Competencies:

• Proven experience in a Pallet Network
• Awareness in DVSA Safe Loading
• Able to work as part of a team and alone
• You will thrive in a fast-paced environment
• A forklift license (both counterbalance & reach truck) is preferable but not essential as training can be provided for the right applicant

Benefits:

• After 2 year’s unbroken service employees will receive an additional day’s holiday which will increase by an extra day (pro rata where necessary) after each additional full years’ service up to a maximum of 3 days.

• Hours of work Monday to Friday 11:00 – 20:00 to include a 30-minute unpaid lunch break

Salary: From £12.80 per hour
