Position: Curator
Location: Concord, CA
Organization: World Wildlife - Heritage Museum (WWHM) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. The Museum is currently being built from scratch, new and is 60% complete. 90,000 sq ft of exhibit space, primarily for education.
Reporting Relationship: The Curator will report directly to the President, Chairman of the Board.
Position Summary: World Wildlife - Heritage Museum (WWHM) is seeking a seasoned Curator of Collections & Exhibitions.
WWHM is searching for a forward-thinking leader who has a passion for world wildlife and experience leading and managing new and existing museum programs. The Curator for WWHM is responsible for curating, designing, producing, and installing exhibitions, collecting, preserving, interpreting, and sharing the history of the 7 continents of the world; and maintaining WWHM's museum collection.
Must be able to prioritize collection pieces, research pieces already in-house and those coming in for future exhibits, write on the history of the pieces for display, for social media, for articles, etc. create exhibits, public outreach, help bring the exhibit to life, look ahead for future exhibits, oversee the transportation of the collection pieces, etc.
The Curator is also responsible for developing policies and procedures for museum collections & exhibitions.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Clean animals – several thousand pieces of wildlife – mammals, birds, fish, etc.
Obtain proper permitting for certain species.
Train and oversee docents.
Oversee maintenance crew and I.T.
Oversee security.
Maintain exhibits.
Work with property authorities to become accredited.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
