We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly, outgoing person to join our team at Malmesbury Library working 19.25 hours per week to help provide a high-quality service to our customers for up to 12 months.
About the role
As Library Assistant, you will help customers with queries, help them to find books and information and support them with basic IT for those using library computers and other library equipment.
You will take part in children’s activities such as 'rhyme time' and events/activities for adults, help with shelving, recommending reading choices, tidying the library, answering the phone and many more tasks are part of this role. No two days will be the same and you’ll need to be ready to deal with the unexpected!
Work pattern for this role is:
Week 1: Tuesday 10am - 4pm, Wednesday 10am - 4pm and Friday 9:30am - 7pm.
Week 2: Tuesday 10am - 4pm, Wednesday 10am - 4pm, Fri 9am - 1:30pm and Satursday 9am - 1pm.
About you
We will look to you to possess at least five GCSEs, including English at grade A-C or equivalent. Previous library experience is not essential as we will trainyou in all aspects of library work.
Interviews will be helf on Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th April 2023.
Where possible interviews are virtual, but due to the nature of this role interviews will be in person. Current public health advice is followed for candidate and employee safety.
