Why Wiltshire?

  • We are a good authority with a good reputation

  • We have a progressive digital culture which enables us to spend more time with our families and give us flexibility

  • We have a visible and accessible management team who pride themselves on offering quality monthly supervision through reflective, open and strengths-based support

We have generous training opportunities in response to the national and local picture including:

  • Through our teaching partnership with Bournemouth University, we offer you teaching opportunities, masterclasses and more

  • We offer creative opportunities for development including practice development lead roles and opportunities to train and develop practitioners and become involved in development projects

  • We offer secondment opportunity for development and experience

  • We have a clear development pathway which is in line with the Professional Capabilities Framework

We are part of an innovative project operating a Contextual Safeguarding model in partnership with the University of Bedfordshire. Our approach has been praised in a recent Government sexual abuse strategy report.

Our offer to you:

  • We have a range of roles including full time, part time and compressed 9- day fortnight hours.

  • Access to wide wellbeing support service available for practitioners which includes a brand-new support service to reduce the likelihood of secondary trauma in our staff

  • Multi-disciplinary team support including key workers who will co-work some cases with you as well as access to administrative services to free you up to focus on spending time with families.

  • Excellent pension provision via the local government pension scheme (LGPS). We contribute around 20% of your salary towards your pension and you can transfer in any existing pension schemes you may have.

  • 26 days’ leave, rising to 31 days after 5 years plus public and bank holidays. You can also purchase an additional 20 days’ leave per year

  • Family friendly policies - we support staff to achieve a healthy work/life balance with supportive policies including maternity and paternity leave, shared parental leave, adoption leave, ordinary parental leave and carers leave.

  • Seminars on managing your finances, planning for retirement, pre-payday loans, ability to make additional voluntary contributions to your pension, learning loans and paid time off to train.

  • Truly flexible working, roles are hybrid between home and the workplace.

  • Occupational health offers a variety of employee wellbeing services to support a healthy work/life balance and lifestyle, including health screening, smoking cessation sessions, menopause support and free flu jabs

We are ambitious for our families and children, for our staff and for ourselves and are determined to see all Wiltshire families thrive. If you share this vision then please get in contact and help us to continue in being a progressive, supportive and learning organisation.
