Position Overview & Specifications
About us
Yeovil Community Church is a vibrant and diverse group of followers of Jesus with an exciting mixture of generations and cultures, families and individuals, teens, adults, and thriving seniors living out faith, hope and love in our community. As well as a buzzing Coffee Shop, we run a thriving stay and play group for young families, social activities for our more senior friends, and welcome a wide range of other community organisations and groups into our building each week (e.g. blood donation sessions, flu and covid vaccainations, choirs, karate classes, dog training, self-help support groups). We also work with a wide range of agencies to support families who need some extra at this time, welcome refugees and asylum seekers, and other vulnerably housed people.
Our Coffee Shop is a great place where people can meet before or after one of our other activity groups, or just to get together with friends in a welcoming and thriving environment.
Would you like to join our Coffee Shop Team?
If you think you can be part of our friendly team at the GateWay who provide a warm welcome, great food, and a friendly environment where people can grab a quick coffee, meet friends and family for lunch, or catch up with someone for a cosy chat, we'd love to hear from you.
Have a look at the attached Job Description, and if you think it describes you, then drop a copy of your CV and a covering letter telling us why you'd be a great addition to the team.
Ideally we need someone who is available for a minimum of 18 hours across Monday, Thursday and Friday each week, and someone looking for flexible part-time work to provide additional shift cover for holidays and other absences.
We will run a rolling recruitment process until we find the right people who can cover the hours required, so please let us know when you are available to work when applying. It may be that we take on a few people in order to get the full cover we need.
