£22,000 - £28,000 per annum

Barry Lewis, host of the established YouTube channel, is looking for an experienced videographer to join his expanding production team. The ideal applicant will have experience shooting and editing videos, a motivated attitude towards channel development and a drive to engage in future video ideas and ideation discussions.

The channel is seeking applicants with a hands-on approach to videography, who can work alongside Barry throughout the day, generating new ideas and filming on an ad-hoc basis. The ability to drive and work in the Weston-Super-Mare area is essential and you will need to be comfortable working in new settings and environments while filming. Ideally you will also be a competent editor and will be capable of aiding with a transition to an in-house editing routine.

The Role

As the main channel videographer, you’ll be responsible for leading conversations in filming strategy and actioning this while shooting. You’ll be confident working in the minimal production environment typical to many YouTube creators, i.e. DSLRs and no additional sound recordist.

You may also find yourself producing rough cuts and short-form edits to support the post-production workflow, but the role does not involve being the online editor for the main channel video uploads.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and passionate about videography and show a drive to work in the digital sphere by actively contributing to the development and growth of the channel. You will be able to demonstrate an interest and understanding of food based content whatever the platform - YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, etc. - and will have a good eye for video composition. You will have a hands-on attitude to the workload and will be comfortable adapting to new challenges and to playing a leading role in generating new ideas and concepts.

This is an opportunity for the right candidate to grow with the channel, develop the production environment, as well as a close relationship with Barry, becoming a valued member of the production team. You’ll be Clive North to Barry’s Keith Floyd. There is also an opportunity to diversify the type of content being produced and an understanding of live streaming and podcast production would be valued.

Barry started filming content in 2011 and has been making content ever since, solidifying his name in the food content world, continuing to grow and share his recipes.
