Role Overview & Responsibilities

Due to the nature of our work, the above post is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and relevant care/safeguarding legislation and appointment will only be confirmed if a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure is obtained from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

KEY RESPONSABILITIES-

  • Safeguard children at all times this includes recognizing signs and symptoms of abuse, understanding how to refer an allegation and who to refer allegations to
  • Identifying risks or hazards and removing them safely, reporting it to the designated officer
  • Support children’s emotional & social development, encourage understanding of others & positive self-concepts
  • Attend regular staff meetings
  • Plan & observe the learning environment to suit the age range of the children
  • Perform housekeeping duties
  • Accompany children to & from school using correct safety equipment
  • Observe & monitor children’s play activities & opportunities
  • Encourage children to maintain personal hygiene & health
  • Organize & participate in recreational activities such as team games
  • Assist with any homework

PERSON SPECIFICATION- Skills, aptitude, knowledge and experience

  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment understanding of childcare provision responsibilities & roles- E
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with all children & colleagues- E
  • Ability to promote positive ethos & role model positive attributes- E
  • Good use of self-initiative skills- E
  • Level 2/3 Childcare Qualification- D

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 16 per week

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • No weekends

Experience:

  • Childcare: 2 years (preferred)

Work Location: In person

Expected start date: 17/04/2023
